Prop Making – Making a Helmet

Wed 4th Oct  10am -3pm

Ever wondered how people make those awesome costumes at Comic Con and other conventions? Well most are made from simple foam – the same stuff used for camping mats.
In this workshop we’ll show you where you can find templates to make helmets, armor, or weapons other cool stuff and show you how to make a cool  helmet!

Suitable for Age 12yrs+ (participants must be confident in using tools such as a hobby knife, scissors, & glue – safely)

Bring lunch – Lunch break 12.30-1pm

Cost: $45 – includes materials

Virtual Reality (VR) Gaming

Techspace will be open for people to have a go at some VR gaming.

Cost: $5pp   (for 10min)

3D Printing     -WORKSHOP FULL-

Almost the perfect prototyping machine, 3D printers can make almost any object. From ornaments to replacement parts to prototyping components for new devices and machines.

This workshop will take you through the steps of designing your own project, using free online apps, preparing the model for printing, setting up the     3D printer and having your model printed.

PLEASE NOTE: 3D printing is not a quick process. The time taken to print an object depends on the size of the object. It may be that not all  students designs will be printed in the timeframe of the workshop. All designs will be printed – however some may need to wait a few days to receive their 3D printed object.

Electronics for Beginners  -WORKSHOP FULL-

Wed 11th Oct 10am – 1pm

For those keen to learn electronics, this workshop will take you through the basics from identifying components to making simple circuits to learning to solder. You’ll put all that knowledge together into a project that you can take home to keep.

Workshop runs from 10am to 1.30pm
